Faith Boit

Ag. Senior Programme Lead
Faith leads the OD strengthening and support for Y-ACT partners at grassroots level including financial management, governance and grants management. She has 11 years working experience at Amref Health Africa, working with grassroots organizations and was part of the team that led the development of Amref’s framework that has been used to manage and strengthen capacity of over 1,000 CSOs across Kenya.

Gloria Nyanja

Content and Training Remote Lead
Driven by the concept of equity, particularly the provision of quality health care to disadvantaged groups, Gloria is responsible for providing sound and expert advice on all aspects of remote online learning for the youth advocates. She holds a dual Masters in Public Health and Health Promotion from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and worked with Youth Empowerment against HIV (YEAH).

Clayton Opiyo

Advocacy Outreach Coordinator (Rural Counties- Kisumu)
He has a background in youth development and has over 9 years’ experience in community-led advocacy initiatives. He enjoys working with youth, children and women on thematic development issues. He is a highly-skilled front line development worker, fast learner and engages in problem-solving through innovative solutions to everyday problems.

Joyce Wanjiru

Advocacy Outreach Coordinator (Coastal Counties- Kilifi)
At Y-ACT, Joyce leads in capacity strengthening and mentorship of youth-led organizations in the coastal Counties to engage in effective advocacy to advance their policy priorities. She is also involved in strategy development and implementation by the county partners, oversees relationships with partners at the county level. Joyce brings over 7 years’ experience in rural and community development as well as skills in gender integration and youth empowerment

Valarie Musavi

Advocacy Outreach Coordinator (Urban Counties-Nairobi)
Valarie Musavi is a robust women’s rights activist, championing the advancement of human rights for all African women and girls. A Gender and Development graduate from the University of Nairobi, she is an outstanding influencer in the design and implementation of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) interventions with professional experience that spans over 6 years in strengthening the women’s and girl’s development agenda.

Beatrice Nyamwenge Okech

Content Development & Knowledge Management Officer.
An avid reader and incredible writer, Beatrice has a way with words, which comes in handy when putting our project activities into words, creating content on our online platforms and managing our social media platforms. She believes in the power of engaging young people and using technology to amplify their voices on issues of priority to them. Beatrice is passionate about advancing gender equality and sexual and reproductive health rights for young people.

Lemanyishoe Samuel Abraham

Advocacy Outreach Coordinator (Pastrol Counties- Samburu)
An expert herder and passionate pastoralist, Samuel Abraham has vast experience on issues regarding young people and servant leadership. His background is in International Relations and Security Studies with a minor in Communication. Before joining Y-ACT Abraham was a Human Rights Monitor with Kenya National Commission on Human Rights in Samburu and Marsabit Counties

Steve Kagia

Film maker and Graphic Designer
Steve is the guy that brings out the beauty in our stories. He is passionate about film making, photography, editing and his dexterity with the camera has been his global ticket to countries around the world. Outside of Y-ACT, Steve has played a key role in bringing out stories of marginalized groups in award-winning films including The Cut.

LilianMaria Wambui

Administration Project Officer
Lilian is the Project Officer in charge of Administration. She ensures the Y-ACT cog wheels run smoothly through the coordination of all Y-ACT activities and events. Prior to joining Y-ACT, Lilian’s previous role was at Amref International University under the Department of Community Health Practice.

Banice Mbuki Mburu

Sauti Sasa Campaign National & County Coordinator
Advocacy and Organizing are in her DNA. Her working with communities has banked an Africa Award and equally earned a place in global platforms. She is a Public policy and Youth Development advocate with over 5 years’ experience in participatory development strategies, public policy research and analysis underpinned by a deep commitment to social justice.

Collins Kibet

Advocacy Outreach Coordinator (Rural Counties- Bungoma)
Collins is a results-oriented and people-focused professional with over six years’ experience in Advocacy, strategic communication, implementation of child protection & SRHR programs and engagement with policymakers. Collins Kibet embraces youth leadership and governance, having served as a member of the Youth Steering Committee during Phase 1 of the Y-ACT project.

Calan Omuse

Grants Assistant
Calan Omuse has more than 3 years of experience in financial and grants management and community work. Her special focus is on ensuring quality finance and grants management with compliance to policy and procedures. Prior to joining Y-ACT, Ms. Calan worked with Amref Health Africa under the Global Fund TB project where she supported grants management.

Cathy Kerubo

Policy & Knowledge Management Specialist, Youth Power Hub
Cathy Kerubo is a seasoned professional with 8+ years’ experience working in social development,
policy processes, project design and implementation with multiple partners in Kenya, Australia and
Vanuatu. Prior to joining Y-ACT, she served in piloting a global program in Sub-Saharan Africa with
the United Nations where she was instrumental in research, gender and leading policy advisory. In
her advisory and leadership capacity, Cathy has provided policy recommendations for the
Government of Kenya, UN agencies, regional policymaking bodies such as the African Union, Africa
CDC and African policymakers. She in addition has been involved in policy formulation and advocacy
across the region and has served on the boards of various organizations in Kenya & Australia.

Sofi Sumbeiywo

Operations and Content Management Assistant, Youth Power Hub
Sofi Sumbeiywo, well known for her infectious energy, diligently works to ensure the Youth Power Hub
platform runs smoothly and that its youth advocates from 21 African countries have access to accurate
and reliable information on the ICPD25 commitments. This work has a specific focus on the areas of
SRHR, women’s empowerment, inclusion of marginalized groups in SRH and gender equality by using
social accountability as tool to address these issues. Previously, Sofi worked with the Amref EU COVID-
19 project and was part of the team that ensured the project’s logistics ran smoothly in the 9 counties
where the project was hosted.
