The YP Tracker is a social accountability tool by the #YouthPowerHub, a digital platform driven by and for the youth on Social Accountability for the ICPD25 Commitments. The #YouthPowerHub comes at a time when there is a nexus between Africa’s Youth Development and achieving Agenda 2030.

This YP Tracker is a one-of-a-kind digital platform that provides a snapshot of country political and financial commitments and how they are progressing in addressing the ICPD25 commitments. By providing these real accounts and snapshots, we aim to spark conversations about the accountability of our governments to young people in Africa.

Power Up!

What makes the YP Tracker unique is that it appreciates that a political commitments may not always translate to action or a financial commitment. Therefore, this tracker has been purposefully designed to measure two dimensions:

  • • The first looks at laws, policies and other efforts that speak to the ICPD25 commitments
  • • The second indicates the resources that governments have allocated to see the commitments through

Background

The #YouthPowerHub consists of more than 120 youth power champions from Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, DRC, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe on the concept implementation of social accountability.
