The Youth in Action Advocacy Training Facilitator Manual is earmarked to support in-person training sessions where a specific target audience has been identified to undertake the course over a specified period of delivery.
The manual has been designed to reinforce key advocacy concepts and skills, provide an opportunity for learners to learn from their peers, and provide technical advocacy support in the development of learner advocacy strategies.
This training manual is meant to be used by a youth advocate who has already undertaken the course, a youth advocate passionate on furthering their advocacy reach, social workers, project and field staff, health workers, local leaders and other educators or facilitators involved in advocacy training as a resource for enhancing techniques and skills needed to keep participants energized, attentive, engaged and result-inspired in their communities of impact.
It is a simple manual to use and gives various options for training. The main focus is on “learning by doing” and this is conducted through in-class exercises and practical applications through course assessment tools and peer-to-peer learning.
