Faith leads the OD strengthening and support for Y-ACT partners at the grassroots level including financial management, governance, and grants management. She has 11 years of working experience at Amref Health Africa, working with grassroots organizations, and was part of the team that led the development of Amref’s framework that has been used to manage and strengthen capacity of over 1,000 CSOs across Kenya.

Driven by the concept of equity, particularly the provision of quality health care to disadvantaged groups, Gloria is responsible for providing sound and expert advice on all aspects of remote online learning for youth advocates. She holds a dual Masters in Public Health and Health Promotion from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and worked with Youth Empowerment against HIV (YEAH).

His background is in International Relations and Security Studies with a minor in Communication. Before joining Y-ACT Abraham was a Human Rights Monitor with Kenya National Commission on Human Rights in Samburu and Marsabit Counties.

At Y-ACT, Joyce leads in capacity strengthening and mentorship of youth-led organizations in the coastal Counties to engage in effective advocacy to advance their policy priorities. She is also involved in strategy development and implementation by the county partners, and oversees relationships with partners at the county level. Joyce brings over 7 years experience in rural and community development as well as skills in gender integration and youth empowerment.

Valarie Musavi is a robust women’s rights activist, championing the advancement of human rights for all African women and girls. A Gender and Development graduate from the University of Nairobi, she is an outstanding influencer in the design and implementation of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) interventions with professional experience that spans over 6 years in strengthening the women’s and girl’s development agenda.

Sharon is the Communications and Content Development Assistant at Y-ACT. She implements and maintains communication channels and develops content and marketing strategies. Sharon is a Gen-Z with a strong passion for Gender Equity precisely and women's economic empowerment in general. She has worked on social, women empowerment, and health equity campaigns. Her interests lie in people, and she enjoys using her skills to advocate for the equity of the youth.

Policy Advocacy Specialist (2019 – 2021)

Vania Kibui is a seasoned public policy, human rights and advocacy practitioner with over fifteen years’ experience in policy advocacy, human rights law, advocacy communications, strategic partnerships, and movement building in the global south. She is a master trainer who believes in community led change, and has trained hundreds in advocacy and human rights across Africa. Fun fact, Vania is proficient in the French Language and has a deep love for fashion, especially African designers. An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, she currently serves as the Regional Policy Advocacy Specialist for the Adolescent and Youth Hub (Global) at Amref Health Africa.

Evalin Karijo is a multi-faceted, award-winning global health specialist, team leader extraordinaire and mountaineer who enjoys living on the edge. Evalin is passionate about youth leadership in Africa and seeks to shift the narrative and ensure that African youth are acknowledged for their ingenuity and capabilities, despite their age. One of her greatest achievements so far is the exemplary leadership she offered to the Y-ACT team. It is therefore no surprise that she is a #Top35Under35 Awardee. Evalin served as the first Director of Y-ACT Youth in Action from 2017-2021.
