Africa has about 471 ICPD commitments. We have made incredible gains since 1994 when the Programme of Action was adopted; but we urgently need to move assertively forward to address the unfinished agenda and the SDGs by 2030.

To ensure we were better equipped as youth advocates, we drew up a summary of 8 themes from the 471 commitments that were relevant to young people:

3. COMPREHENSIVE SEXUALITY EDUCATION (CSE) & ACCESS TO SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (SRH) SERVICES AND INFORMATION

4. FULFILL SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (SRH) BY YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

5. GENDER EQUALITY

6. INCLUSIVITY – LGBTIQ & PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES

7. MEANINGFUL & INCLUSIVE YOUTH PARTICIPATION

8. BUDGETARY ALLOCATION
