Join the Y-ACT Regional Youth Steering Committee (YSC) 2026-2028 | Shape the future of youth-led health and development across Africa.

Y-ACT is seeking six exceptional young leaders to join the Regional Youth Steering Committee (YSC) for the 2026-2028 term. The YSC is a strategic advisory body that brings together diverse youth leaders from across Africa and the African Diaspora to provide guidance on Y-ACT’s priorities, programmes, advocacy and partnerships. Members play an important role in ensuring that young people’s voices, experiences and priorities continue to shape Y-ACT’s work and contribute to advancing meaningful youth engagement across the continent.

If you have a proven track record in youth engagement, advocacy, policy or programme leadership and are passionate about driving meaningful change, we invite you to apply.

Who should apply?

We’re looking for young leaders who:

  • Are between 18 and 35 years old at the time of appointment.
  • Have demonstrated experience in youth engagement, advocacy, policy, research or programme implementation at national, regional or continental level.
  • Are committed to advancing health equity and meaningful youth engagement across Africa.
  • Can dedicate time to actively contribute throughout the two-year term.
  • Bring diverse perspectives, lived experiences and innovative ideas.

 

The 2026-2028 cohort will comprise six members, representing North, West, Central, East and Southern Africa, together with the African Diaspora.

What will YSC members do?

As a member of the YSC, you will:

  • Provide strategic advice on Y-ACT’s programmes, advocacy and priorities.
  • Lead a defined thematic or operational portfolio aligned with your expertise.
  • Contribute to policy discussions, partnerships, campaigns and youth engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in monthly virtual meetings and collaborative planning.
  • Work alongside Y-ACT and fellow youth leaders to strengthen meaningful youth participation and accountability.
